About this file

This Construction Bid Addendum No. 01 is issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, State Facilities Administration Design & Construction Division for the Superior Region Office HVAC Replacement project (File Number 591/25416). The project involves replacing HVAC systems at the Superior Region Office, with a prebid meeting held on July 21, 2026, and a bid opening scheduled for August 5, 2026. The work includes boiler replacement with a corrected specification for a Weil McLain LGB-4 unit, condensing unit replacement with an approved Trane IntelliCore Air-Cooled 30-ton model, main pumps, valves, expansion tank installation, exhaust system upgrades to code compliance, and inspection of remaining systems. The project completion date is May 31, 2027. Matthew Lusby, MDOT Project Director, issued this addendum on July 23, 2026, which incorporates clarifications from the prebid meeting and must be acknowledged by all bidders in their bid submissions.

The addendum specifies a cash allowance of $10,000 already included in the bid schedule with no contingency allowance. Work scope includes replacing all lines, valves, and components required for the new R454B refrigerant system, upgrading exhaust systems with 10-inch connected exhaust using a Y manifold to the existing 14-inch exhaust stack, and inspecting remaining system components for replacement or code compliance needs. Bidders proposing alternative condensing unit models must submit specification sheets prior to the bid deadline. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum to avoid bid rejection, as the addendum becomes part of the contract documents.
