About this file
Addendum 1 for the Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MAA) Public and Employee Parking Modifications project (MAA Project No. 51224) was issued on January 17, 2025, extending the proposal submission date to Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST. The addendum includes a pre-bid meeting agenda and sign-in sheet, and addresses two key contractor inquiries: confirming the fence style as standard galvanized steel pipe posts and rails (essentially a chain link fence without fabric) and verifying that existing parking control equipment will remain unchanged. The pre-bid meeting, held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM, was non-mandatory but required a site visit for bidding.
The project has a budget of $1,000,000 and requires a bid bond, with a Public Construction Bond (Payment and Performance) to be provided upon award. Project completion (substantial) is set at 120 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per day. The project involves modifications to public and employee parking areas, including construction of approximately 5,850 square yards of curbed asphalt pavement, additional parking spaces, drainage, striping, lighting, and installation of a low open-frame fence. Badging will not be required, and the contractor is responsible for overall job safety and maintenance of traffic (MOT) requirements. The project is scheduled to be confirmed at the February 26, 2025, Board Meeting.

QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES:
1. CIF-001: We are currently trying to figure out what fencing style is needed for this project. We currently have a GC that is asking for us to bid this portion of the project, but it is unclear as to about:blank
ADDENDUM 1/PAGE 2 OF 2
the type of fence that is needed. On the plans, it shows almost like a chain link style fence with no wire, but the GC is asking us to bid an Ornamental Steel Fence. Just want to make sure that we bif the proper fence. Thank you very much for your time.
RESPONSE: Refer to Sheet 5 of 12. DETAIL – TOP PORTION OF STEEL PIPE BARRIER, This is not an ornamental fence. Standard galvanized steel pipe posts and rails to be used.
Basically, chain link without the fabric. Note tape applied to top rail.
2. CIF-002: Is there currently already parking control equipment in place?
RESPONSE: Yes. The current system remains and requires no modifications.
