About this file
This document is Addendum No. 01 for Invitation to Bid (ITB) # 06-25 issued by New Smyrna Beach Utilities (NSBU) for an Annual Contract for Electrical Construction. The contract is for as-needed transmission and distribution line construction, including overhead and underground work. NSBU plans to award the contract to multiple vendors who specialize in different areas of expertise, such as transmission, distribution, or underground work. The contract will cover construction work that may include months of maintenance work and small projects throughout 2025, with no guarantee of continuous work but expectations of steady work due to growth activities in the area.
The addendum provides clarifications on various aspects of the contract, including licensing requirements (accepting Utility Line Contractor or equivalent), work scope, and operational details. NSBU will provide a show-up location at Smyrna Substation, dumpsters for scrap metals and trash, and will pay permit costs. Contractors are responsible for crew size, Porta John facilities, and maintaining a clean and organized work site. The document confirms that mob/demob rates will be applied per crew, and MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) subcontractor costs can be treated as a passthrough. Contractors can submit pricing for each apprenticeship step and may request alternative work schedules like a 4/10 hour shift for consideration.
