About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to RFP-23-48286, issued by the City of Marietta, Georgia on September 8, 2022, clarifying specifications for the procurement of residential roll carts for sanitation services. The addendum addresses four key questions from prospective bidders regarding cart manufacturing and assembly specifications. The original proposal deadline is 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, with sealed proposals to be submitted to the Purchasing Division at City Hall, 205 Lawrence Street, Marietta, GA 30060. All bidders must sign and include the addendum with their proposals. Proposal documents are available on the City of Marietta website, and inquiries should be directed to Purchasing Agent II Shelly Drewry at sdrewry@mariettaga.gov.
The addendum clarifies that the City will accept injection-molded carts manufactured with high-density polyethylene, as the manufacturing process does not prohibit vendor submission of quotes. However, the City will not accept a 35-gallon cart as a substitute for the 48-gallon specification, as offering a size too similar to the 65-gallon option creates excessive resident requests for cart size changes and municipal work order backlogs. Additionally, the City will not accept carts delivered with wheels and axles unassembled, even if the components are snap-on and can be quickly installed at delivery. Proposals must remain valid for ninety days after bid opening, and the City reserves the right to award on the basis of its best interest, accept or reject any proposals, and waive technicalities or informalities.

THE CITY OF MARIETTA
MARIETTA, GEORGIA
September 8, 2022
ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO:
CITY OF MARIETTA PROPOSAL NO. RFP-23-48286
FOR
RESIDENTIAL ROLL CARTS FOR SANITATION
All prospective proposers are hereby advised to make the changes to the Proposal documents in their possession as shown and/or described in the attached information:
Change, replace or add the following in the above referenced proposal:
1. Will the city consider accepting injection molded carts? The molding process does not prohibit a vendor from submitting a quote.
2. Would the City consider injection molded containers with high density polyethylene? There have been significant improvements in the manufacturing process over the years, which have significantly improved the durability of the carts and it is the preferred method of production for all but one manufacturer. The molding process does not prohibit a vendor from submitting a quote.
3. Would the City consider a 35G cart in place of the 48G? We have found that offering a size so close to the 65G causes residents to want to switch the size of their carts very often and this creates a backlog of work orders for the municipality. No
4. Would the City accept carts that were delivered with everything, but the wheels and axles assembled? The wheels and axles will be in the bottom of every cart. The wheels are snap on and can be assembled in a matter of seconds at the resident’s home at the time of delivery. No
All bidders must sign this Addendum#1 and include with your proposal.
