About this file

Addendum 1 for RFP 26-26 is a response document from the University of Southern Mississippi's Office of the Director of Procurement Services addressing technical inquiries submitted by potential bidders for solicitation 9280-26-R-IFBD-00029. The addendum clarifies that the enterprise-grade managed cybersecurity monitoring and incident response program will focus on monitoring a Microsoft Defender security stack with A5 licensing across approximately 3,000 endpoints. The University specifies that pricing should be based on active users rather than device count, with no firewalls currently in scope for the engagement. This clarification was issued on February 25, 2026, in response to bidder questions regarding infrastructure, hardware considerations, and the current security technology environment.

The response indicates that the University's cybersecurity infrastructure consists primarily of endpoint devices managed through Microsoft Defender, with active user licensing as the primary pricing metric rather than traditional per-device or per-firewall models. The addendum was prepared by Amber Floyd, Buyer, Procurement, and Contract Services, and provides critical technical specifications that bidders must incorporate into their proposal development and cost structure prior to the sealed bid submission deadline of Monday, March 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Central Time.

1. Could you provide additional technical details regarding the current infrastructure and software stack?

Specifically, we would appreciate information on:

- The number of firewalls, endpoints, and any other relevant hardware considerations.

- Details of the current security stack and the specific software applications currently in use.

a. This is for monitoring a Microsoft Defender security stack with an A5 license. There are currently no firewalls in scope. The pricing should be based on active users rather than device count. However, we have approximately 3,000 endpoints in scope.
