About this file
This addendum clarifies specifications and requirements for Bid Invitation 236-25 issued by the State of New Hampshire, Division of Procurement and Support Services, for the procurement of steam kettles for the NH Northern Correctional Facility in Berlin. The solicitation seeks two Cleveland Range Model KGL-60 steam kettles with 60-gallon capacity and 2/3 steam jacket to replace existing equipment in the facility's kitchen. The bid closing date is June 12, 2025, at 10:30 AM, and proposals must be submitted by this deadline. No site visits or bidder conferences are mentioned in this addendum document.
The addendum provides critical responses to bidder questions that clarify key procurement requirements: direct manufacturer drop shipment is acceptable; the Department of Corrections will handle all installation, disconnection of existing equipment, and disposal of old units; fill faucets, correctional packages, and accessory kits are not required; the kettles must be delivered as soon as possible due to tariff uncertainties affecting bid pricing; and each kettle must include a standard one-year parts and labor warranty with no extended warranty needed. The corrected bid document contains 12 pages rather than 13 as originally stated. Pricing should be F.O.B. destination to the facility address at 138 East Milan Road, Berlin, NH. All changes noted in this addendum supersede previously submitted documents and must be included with bid submissions. Interested vendors should contact purchasing agent Steve Burgess at NH.Purchasing@das.nh.gov for additional inquiries and access complete bid documentation through the state's purchasing website.

ADDENDUM # 01 TO BID INVITATION 236-25
DATE AND TIME OF BID CLOSING: 6/12/2023 10:30 AM
FOR: Steam Kettles
Question 1: Bid says there are 13 pages, only 12 printed out. Is a page missing?
State Response: There are only 12 pages. Corrected bid posted.
Question 2: Will the NH Northern Correctional Facility accept a drop shipment of these 2 Kettles direct from the manufacturer?
State Response: Yes
Question 3: Does the facility want an inside delivery of the units directly into the kitchen & set-in-place for final connections by others?
• Are there 2 existing kettles that need to be removed & disposed of by the awarded vendor?
• Are the existing kettles located in a cooking line next to each other; or are they separated by other pieces of equipment?
• Does the facility intend to disconnect any existing equipment & mechanically connect the new units themselves?
• Or does the facility want a price for a factory authorized service agent to disconnect the existing equipment, connect new equipment & remove the old units for disposal?
State Response: The DOC will be installing the Steam Kettles.
Question 4: Does the facility want each kettle to include a fill faucet? Or would the facility want a single faucet provided that could be used to fill both kettles, provided that the kettles are installed side-by-side (NOTE: The kettles come standard w/ a faucet bracket, but the faucets must be ordered separately.)
State Response: Not Required.
Question 5: Does the facility want full correctional packages for each kettle?
State Response: Not Required
Question 6: What is the facility timeline for a delivery of the kettles? Do they want the kettles ordered & delivered ASAP; or is this for a future purchase & installation? (NOTE: because of the current uncertain Us government tariff issues maintaining our bid pricing is dependent upon providing the units in a limited time frame.)
State Response: The units are to be delivered ASAP.
Question 7: Does the facility want either of these accessory kit items for each kettle:
• Item KAK Kettle Accessory Kit, that includes clean up brush, paddle, stainless steel whip, brush, draw-off brush, ladle?
• Or item KBK Kettle Brush Kit, that just includes the clean-up brush, paddle, brush (@ a lesser charge)?
State Response: Not Required
Question 8: Does the facility wish to purchase an extended one-year warranty for each kettle (cost TBD)?
State Response: The units must be covered by a one-year warranty. No further warranty will be needed.
Question 9: Does the NNHCF in Berlin currently have two (2) CLEVELAND KGL-60 Stem Kettles in their kitchen cooking line?
State Response: Yes. The new kettles will be installed by the DOC in the same location.
