About this file

This document is an Addendum #01 to Bid Invitation 236-25 issued by the State of New Hampshire's Division of Procurement and Support Services, Bureau of Purchase and Property, for the procurement of two steam kettles for the NH Northern Correctional Facility in Berlin. The bid closing date is set for 6/12/2023 at 10:30 AM, and the facility requires the kettles to be delivered as soon as possible. The addendum addresses nine specific questions from potential bidders regarding installation, delivery, warranty, and accessory requirements, with the state providing clear responses indicating that the Department of Corrections (DOC) will handle installation, no additional accessories are required, and a standard one-year warranty is mandatory.

The addendum confirms that the facility currently has two CLEVELAND KGL-60 Steam Kettles in their kitchen cooking line, which will be replaced by the new units in the same location. The state has indicated flexibility for drop shipment directly from the manufacturer and emphasizes that all changes noted in the addendum will supersede previously submitted documents. Potential vendors are directed to visit the state's purchasing website (https://das.nh.gov/purchasing/vendorresources.aspx) for complete bid details and addendums. The purchasing agent for this bid is Steve Burgess, who can be contacted at NH.Purchasing@das.nh.gov for any additional inquiries.

ADDENDUM # 01 TO BID INVITATION 236-25

DATE AND TIME OF BID CLOSING: 6/12/2023 10:30 AM

FOR: Steam Kettles

Question 1: Bid says there are 13 pages, only 12 printed out. Is a page missing?

State Response: There are only 12 pages. Corrected bid posted.

Question 2: Will the NH Northern Correctional Facility accept a drop shipment of these 2 Kettles direct from the manufacturer?

State Response: Yes

Question 3: Does the facility want an inside delivery of the units directly into the kitchen & set-in-place for final connections by others?

• Are there 2 existing kettles that need to be removed & disposed of by the awarded vendor?

• Are the existing kettles located in a cooking line next to each other; or are they separated by other pieces of equipment?

• Does the facility intend to disconnect any existing equipment & mechanically connect the new units themselves?

• Or does the facility want a price for a factory authorized service agent to disconnect the existing equipment, connect new equipment & remove the old units for disposal?

State Response: The DOC will be installing the Steam Kettles.

Question 4: Does the facility want each kettle to include a fill faucet? Or would the facility want a single faucet provided that could be used to fill both kettles, provided that the kettles are installed side-by-side (NOTE: The kettles come standard w/ a faucet bracket, but the faucets must be ordered separately.)

State Response: Not Required.

Question 5: Does the facility want full correctional packages for each kettle?

State Response: Not Required

Question 6: What is the facility timeline for a delivery of the kettles? Do they want the kettles ordered & delivered ASAP; or is this for a future purchase & installation? (NOTE: because of the current uncertain Us government tariff issues maintaining our bid pricing is dependent upon providing the units in a limited time frame.)

State Response: The units are to be delivered ASAP.

Question 7: Does the facility want either of these accessory kit items for each kettle:

• Item KAK Kettle Accessory Kit, that includes clean up brush, paddle, stainless steel whip, brush, draw-off brush, ladle?

• Or item KBK Kettle Brush Kit, that just includes the clean-up brush, paddle, brush (@ a lesser charge)?

State Response: Not Required

Question 8: Does the facility wish to purchase an extended one-year warranty for each kettle (cost TBD)?

State Response: The units must be covered by a one-year warranty. No further warranty will be needed.

Question 9: Does the NNHCF in Berlin currently have two (2) CLEVELAND KGL-60 Stem Kettles in their kitchen cooking line?

State Response: Yes. The new kettles will be installed by the DOC in the same location.
