About this file
This is an Addendum 01 issued by Koch Covotsos Architects PC on October 30, 2026, for the Capitol Garage Entrance remodel project located at 5035 Oakland Street, Denver, Colorado, on behalf of the State of Colorado Capital Complex. The addendum provides clarification and direction to bidding contractors regarding project scope and requirements. Key requirements include removal and disposal of the existing roll-up door curtain, rails, and conduit while salvaging electrical components such as the motor, controls, disconnect, and limit switches. The glass selected for the new entrance must match the tinted glass in the adjacent work area. Contractors must have been present at the bidders' conference, as indicated by the attached sign-in sheet, to be eligible to bid on this project. Questions regarding the scope are due by 10:00 AM on Monday, November 2, 2026, to allow time for coordination with curtain wall installers.
The addendum specifies detailed security system requirements, including the purchase and installation of card reader components compliant with the Hirsch security system standard, with Beacon identified as the preferred vendor. The general contractor must install conduit from the door entry point to the Hirsch M8 security panel in the demark area, utilizing existing pathways where possible without cutting or drilling into the existing precast structure without a structural engineer's letter. Additional specifications include installation of a Von Duprin motorized latch retraction rim exit device with integrated REX switch, power transfer hinge, and power supply, along with conduit runs to the Scramble Pad box, power transfer hinge, and door header for the position switch. The contractor must maintain a secure job site twenty-four hours per day by creating barricades at the open construction area daily. The existing handrail is to be salvaged and reused. No pricing terms, set-asides, or funding information is provided in this addendum.
