List of Questions
| Question No. | Question |
| 1 | Commercial Status and Implementation To assist the Government in determining if the proposed solution meets the definition of a commercial product (FAR 2.101) and aligns with our deployment timeline (~6 months), address the following: |
a) Commercial Market: Is this exact product, or a substantially similar version of it, currently sold to and used by government and non-governmental entities (such as private pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, or academic institutions)? Please provide a general description of your commercial customer base.
b) Product Accessibility: Is there a public-facing website detailing the product’s capabilities? Do you offer standard commercial trials, sandbox environments, or interactive demos for prospective customers?
c) Documentation & Roadmap: Does your product have standard, publicly available user documentation and a defined commercial release roadmap for future updates?
d) Pricing Structure: Is your proposed solution available on a published commercial price list, catalog, or schedule (e.g., GSA Multiple Award Schedule)? If so, please describe how your pricing model is structured (e.g., per user, per query, tier-based subscription).
e) Deployment Timeline: Based on the draft requirements, can your commercial solution be fully configured, integrated, and deployed within ~6 months of contract award?
f) Maintainability: If minor modifications or configurations are required to meet USPTO requirements, please confirm that these changes will not “fork” the software or prevent the USPTO from seamlessly applying standard commercial updates, security patches, or version upgrades.
g) Core Functionality: Please validate that any modifications required to meet the USPTO’s needs will not alter the primary function or essential characteristics of your core commercial product.
2 End-to-end biosequence search and alignment
a) Describe your proposed end-to-end biosequence search and alignment for nucleotide and protein queries.
b) Describe support for standard alignment methods and configurable search parameters, including support for large biological sequence database.
c) What is the current maturity level of your solution?
i. What capabilities are available today
ii. What is in pilot, beta, or in the product roadmap
iii. Known limitations or dependencies
d) If your solution includes Super Intelligence (SI)-enabled capabilities, please describe how those capabilities improve search strategies.
3 Search result management and exploration
a) What capabilities does your solution provide for search result management, organization and exploration?
b) If your solution includes Super Intelligence (SI)-enabled capabilities, please describe how those capabilities improve search result management or user productivity.
4 Query sequence editor and reuse
a) What capabilities does your solution include for a query sequence editor to create, edit, transform, retrieve, and reuse sequences and sequence fragments?
5 Patent document and sequence ingestion
a) How does your solution ingest and process patent claims, specifications, sequence listings, and result files?
6 Search strategy recommendation
a) How does your solution recommend practical search strategies for users?
b) Describe explainability mechanisms (rationales, attention, feature importance).
c) Please describe how recommendations are generated, how users can review them, and whether the solution supports refinement based on user feedback.
