FALCONS will replace the LRAS3 as the long range surveillance sensor for the Army. RTI plans to conduct a FTL Rodeo to assess current long range sensor capabilities. Industry participants will demonstrate their current capabilities at a Army test site, and will become familiar with the FTL testing and assessment methodology. RTI and PdM-Ground Sensors will use information gained from this event to increase the pace of hardware and software development, and will help the government develop performance specifications.

Topic #FC-05: PNT Enablers and Modular Open System Architectures (MOSA) for Complementary & Assured Navigation Modules - Per the guidelines described in the white paper solicitation, all proposed capabilities are at least TRL 4 and would be at TRL 6 by the end of the effort. Furthermore, all capabilities are geared towards use in either dismounted and/or mounted use-cases and meet what we understand to be current warfighter needs. Central to each technology is compatibility with current (or future planned) revisions of either ASPN and/or pntOS providing the ability to fuse MOSA compliant components into a larger system. A key benefit of this approach is that end-users can easily reconfigure components in accordance with mission requirements to rapidly assemble systems and solutions that are not confined to a single technology or vendor.

WHITE PAPER CALL 009, Soldier Integrated Positioning, Navigation, & Timing (SIPNT) - Modular Architecture & Integrated Demonstrator (MAID) - This whitepaper is intended for Level 1, and a separate Level 2 version will be submitted. Only one full proposal will be submitted based on the sponsor's priorities and feedback. This whitepaper introduces an advanced visual avigation solution tailored for the Army, ensuring reliable navigation when GPS is unavailable, compromised, or degraded. By integrating cutting-edge visual navigation methods, state-of-the-art machine learning, and computer vision technologies, this solution offers precise and accurate navigation for both dismounted soldiers and vehicles in various challenging terrains, including urban areas, mountainous regions, and other complex landscapes. Our proposed system integrates the Skyline Nav AI platform with the Army’s pntOS, leveraging existing sensors to analyze images of the operational environment. It cross-references this data with Digital Surface Models (DSM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) that include location data for various features. This robust combination establishes accurate soldier and/or vehicle positioning and orientation even in GPS-denied situations and complex terrains, such as urban settings with tall buildings and natural landscapes with dense vegetation. This capability significantly enhances real-time location accuracy and situational awareness, supporting mission success in diverse operational scenarios.
