About this file
This document is a project scope for gate system upgrades at the Pendleton AASF #2 (Army Aviation Support Facility) involving comprehensive gate controller and security system replacement. The existing gate infrastructure, installed in January 2010, is nearing the end of its service life and includes four Byan 900 AL Swing Gate Openers with current safety features like loop detectors and manual override capabilities through a guard shack. The scope of work requires providing and installing a new barrier arm gate system, including replacing all four gate controllers, adding leading edge sensors and safety eyes, replacing maglocks, 3-button controls, and bumper stops, while reusing existing hydraulic arms. The project also includes repairing or replacing the main gate exit loop and commissioning the system with owner training.
The current remote electronic access control system uses a Lenel network platform for automated gate operations during business hours and after-hours closing, but is experiencing reliability issues such as controller card failures, failed relays, and poor wiring. The proposed upgrade aims to modernize the gate control infrastructure, enhance security features, and improve operational reliability. The system will maintain existing safety protocols with updated technology, including photo eyes, down loops, and electronic control mechanisms. No specific budget or funding details are provided in the document, but the scope suggests a comprehensive system replacement focused on maintaining the facility's security and access control capabilities.
