About this file
This document is a technical specification section for a Court Resurfacing Project by Collier County Parks, dated March 7, 2022, with project number 22-7969. The specification covers comprehensive resurfacing requirements for multiple recreational courts including basketball, tennis, bocce, racquetball, and shuffleboard courts. The project involves preparing and applying new athletic court surfaces using ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified systems, with specific requirements for surface preparation, painting, line marking, and post-installation protection. Each court type has detailed instructions for surface cleaning, crack repair, primer application, paint coating, and line painting, with strict guidelines on material ratios, application temperatures, and curing times.
The specification includes mandatory quality assurance requirements, such as recording product batch numbers, using manufacturer-specified materials, and ensuring surfaces are free from defects like streaking or pour marks. The contractor must provide a one-year warranty on all work and materials, and follow extensive protection protocols, including restricting access to newly surfaced courts for one week after completion. The courts will use wear-resistant acrylic emulsions with colors selected by the county, and must meet specific sporting organization specifications (A.S.B.A., U.S.T.A.) for line dimensions and placement. Additional requirements include repairing existing surfaces, installing new drainage or court dividers where necessary, and ensuring all materials are environmentally compliant and free from harmful substances like lead and mercury.
