3.10.3.2 Eliminate the seam in the south facing vertical board by using one continuous board. Refer to Figure 17, South side.
3.10.3.3 Install a tapered solid wood block, with narrow taper at the top, above the capital portion of both brick columns on the south porch. Bottom to extend just past the top of the capital. This feature is intended to keep birds from nesting atop the brick columns.
3.10.4 Construct valleys utilizing proper materials and methods to meet manufacturer’s requirements for proper installation and warranty.
3.10.5 Attic ventilation. Refer to section 3.5.
3.10.5.1 If ridge vents are not feasible due to shape and size of roof, contractor shall make recommendation as to an effective means of providing attic ventilation exhaust.
3.10.5.2 “Smart Vents” for intake air are typically utilized on base if soffits are not or cannot be vented, or if exterior walls extend up to the underside of the roof deck.
3.10.5.3 If contractor recommends other solutions than these for bldg 59, this would require coordination with SHPO. Include a description and analysis in the ventilation shop drawing submittal.
3.10.6 Replace rusted metal exhaust fan ventilation ductwork for bathroom on the north side of the roof.
3.10.7 Gutters and downspouts.
3.10.7.1 Install one additional downspout on north wall, west end and route an underground 3" PVC pipe to the west and 10 feet away from building, ending at a pop-up drain emitter.
