About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a fence repair project for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Carson City District following the 2024 Davis Fire. The project involves removing and reconstructing approximately 23,492 linear feet of fencing across four separate areas: North Davis Fire Fence (2,198 linear feet), East Davis Fire Fence (10,031 linear feet), South Davis Fire Fence (5,751 linear feet), and West Davis Fire Fence (5,512 linear feet). The project is located approximately 15 miles north of Carson City, Nevada, within Washoe County.

The SOW specifies detailed requirements for fence reconstruction, including removing existing fence materials, reusing some stress panels, and installing new wire, posts, and gates. The BLM will provide specific materials such as steel pipe posts, wire, brace rails, and gate components. The contractor is responsible for careful installation, including driving posts, stretching wire, and constructing corner and end panels. The project has a 45-calendar day performance period, with work to be completed using minimal ground disturbance and following strict environmental guidelines. The solicitation is structured as a "Total Offer - All or None" procurement, meaning all line items must be bid on, with unit pricing required for each component.

F. Brace Wire: Double-loop and twist tight with a stick. For steel pipe panels, each wrap shall be looped once around the post. Leave one end of the stick long enough to fasten behind the horizontal brace to prevent wire from unwinding or wire vertically to the rail to prevent unwinding.

G. Gates: Shall be installed according to the drawings.

H. Wire Gate Closers: Adjust wire gate closer after installation so that the closer does not require excessive force to latch and the gate will still hang properly.
