STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

Lake Valley Navajo School – Chain-Link Security Fencing

1. PROJECT TITLE - Installation of Chain-Link Security Fencing at Lake Valley Navajo

School

2. PROJECT LOCATION

Lake Valley Navajo School (X01)

Crownpoint, New Mexico 87313

3. BACKGROUND

Lake Valley Navajo School is requesting the installation of chain-link fencing around a newly constructed playground and an existing basketball court. The playground and basketball court are located in the center of the school campus.

The proposed fencing will provide an additional level of security and controlled access to these recreational areas. The school intends to be proactive in establishing a safer environment for students and staff by securing the playground and basketball court.

The school plans to use existing 256 Operation and Maintenance (O&M) funds to complete this project. The available funds need to be obligated and expended before the end of the fiscal year.

4. OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project is to furnish and install chain-link fencing around the newly constructed playground and existing basketball court to provide additional security, establish defined boundaries, and help control access to the recreational areas.

5. SCOPE OF WORK

The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and incidental services necessary to complete the installation of the chain-link fencing described below.

A. Playground Fence

The contractor shall furnish and install approximately 237 linear feet of 4-foot-high chain-link fencing around the newly constructed playground.

The playground fencing shall include:

• Approximately 237 linear feet of chain-link fence.

• 4-foot overall fence height.

• 9-gauge chain-link fabric.

• 2-inch mesh.

• Hot-dip galvanized chain-link fencing.

• 1-7/8-inch outside-diameter line posts are spaced approximately 10 feet apart.

• 1-5/8-inch top rail.

• Three (3) 3-foot-wide walk-in gates.

• Zero (0) drive-through gates.

• All required gate and fence hardware.

The contractor's proposal confirms that the playground fence includes the material, labor, and equipment required to install the 237-foot fence and three 3-foot walk-in gates.

B. Basketball Court Fence

The contractor shall furnish and install approximately 366 linear feet of 6-foot-high chain-link fencing around the existing basketball court.

The basketball court fencing shall include:

• Approximately 366 linear feet of chain-link fence.

• 6-foot overall fence height.

• 9-gauge chain-link fabric.

• 2-inch mesh.

• Hot-dip galvanized chain-link fencing.

• 1-7/8-inch outside-diameter line posts spaced approximately 10 feet apart.

• 1-5/8-inch top rail.

• Four (4) 3-foot-wide walk-in gates.

• Zero (0) drive-through gates.

• All required gate and fence hardware.

The contractor's proposal confirms that the basketball court fence includes the material, labor, and equipment required to install the 366-foot fence and four 3-foot walk-in gates.

6. GENERAL CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

The contractor shall:

1. Verify the proposed fence locations with the school Point of Contact before beginning work.

2. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and transportation necessary to complete the project.

3. Install the fencing in a professional and workmanlike manner.

4. Ensure fence posts, fabric, top rails, gates, and associated hardware are securely installed.

5. Maintain a safe work area throughout the project.

6. Coordinate work activities with the school to minimize disruption to school operations.

7. Protect existing school property, playground equipment, basketball court, landscaping, utilities, and other improvements from damage.

8. Remove construction debris and leave the work area clean upon completion.

9. Notify the school Point of Contact of any unforeseen conditions that may affect the scope, schedule, or cost of the project before proceeding with additional work.

7. SITE CONDITIONS

The work will be performed on the Lake Valley Navajo School campus. The playground and basketball court are located in the center of the school campus.

Based on information provided by the school, there are no known unique complications or unusual site conditions anticipated to affect completion of the project.

The contractor shall verify actual site conditions and fence alignment before beginning installation.

8. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

The contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements and shall maintain a safe work environment for students, staff, visitors, and workers.

The contractor shall coordinate work with the school to ensure construction activities do not create an unnecessary hazard to students or staff.

The project is not anticipated to require approval from the Division of Safety and Risk

Management (DSRM).

9. DELIVERABLE

The contractor shall provide a complete and operational chain-link fence installation consisting of:

• Approximately 237 LF of 4-foot chain-link fencing around the playground.

• Three (3) 3-foot walk-in gates at the playground.

• Approximately 366 LF of 6-foot chain-link fencing around the basketball court.

• Four (4) 3-foot walk-in gates at the basketball court.

• All associated posts, top rails, hardware, and installation necessary for a complete fence system.

10. ACCEPTANCE

The Government and school Point of Contact will inspect the completed work to verify that the fencing has been installed in accordance with this SOW.

Final acceptance will be based on:

• Completion of the required fencing and gates.

• Proper installation and secure attachment of all fence components.

• Proper operation of all gates and associated hardware.

• Completion of work in a professional and workmanlike manner.

• Removal of construction debris and cleanup of the work area.

• Resolution of deficiencies identified during the final inspection.

11. SUMMARY

This project will provide additional security and controlled access around the Lake Valley

Navajo School playground and basketball court. The installation consists of approximately 603 linear feet of chain-link fencing and seven (7) walk-in gates. The project will be funded using existing 256 O&M funds and will be completed on the Lake Valley Navajo School campus.
