About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the installation of chain-link security fencing at Lake Valley Navajo School in Crownpoint, New Mexico.

The project requires the contractor to furnish and install approximately 610 linear feet of chain-link fencing and seven walk-in gates across two locations. For the playground, the contractor must install approximately 260 linear feet of 4-foot-high chain-link fencing with three 3-foot walk-in gates. Specifications include 9-gauge hot-dip galvanized chain-link fabric with 2-inch mesh, 1-7/8-inch outside-diameter line posts spaced approximately 10 feet apart, and 1-5/8-inch top rail. For the basketball court, the contractor must install approximately 350 linear feet of 6-foot-high chain-link fencing with four 3-foot walk-in gates, using the same material specifications as the playground fence. Both fence installations are positioned approximately 2 feet beyond existing concrete perimeters on all sides. The contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, site verification, professional installation, debris removal, and coordination with school operations to minimize disruption. Final acceptance is contingent upon proper installation and secure attachment of all components, proper gate operation, professional workmanship, debris removal, and resolution of any deficiencies identified during inspection. The Point of Contact is Clintis Muskett, School Maintenance Worker, at clintis.muskett@bie.edu or (505) 786-5392.

STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

Lake Valley Navajo School – Chain-Link Security Fencing

1. PROJECT TITLE - Installation of Chain-Link Security Fencing at Lake Valley Navajo

School

2. PROJECT LOCATION

Lake Valley Navajo School (X01)

7750 County Road Hwy 371 #567

Co Rd 7750

Crownpoint, New Mexico 87313

3. BACKGROUND

Lake Valley Navajo School is requesting the installation of chain-link fencing around a newly constructed playground and an existing basketball court. The playground and basketball court are located in the center of the school campus.

The proposed fencing will provide an additional level of security and controlled access to these recreational areas. The school intends to be proactive in establishing a safer environment for students and staff by securing the playground and basketball court.

4. OBJECTIVE

The objective of this project is to furnish and install chain-link fencing around the newly constructed playground and existing basketball court to provide additional security, establish defined boundaries, and help control access to the recreational areas.

5. SCOPE OF WORK

The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and incidental services necessary to complete the installation of the chain-link fencing described below.

A. Playground Fence

The Contractor shall furnish and install approximately 260 linear feet (LF) of 4-foot-high chain-link fencing around the newly constructed playground.

The existing concrete curb surrounding the playground measures approximately:

• 73 ft. × 53 ft. × 73 ft. × 53 ft. = 252 LF

The new fence shall be installed approximately 2 feet beyond the existing concrete curb on all sides. The approximate fence dimensions will therefore be:

• 75 ft. × 55 ft. × 75 ft. × 55 ft. = 260 LF

The 260 LF quantity represents the estimated total length of fencing required around the playground and includes the additional 2-foot offset beyond the existing concrete curb in all directions.

The playground fencing shall include:

• Approximately 260 linear feet of chain-link fence.

• 4-foot overall fence height.

• 9-gauge chain-link fabric.

• 2-inch mesh.

• Hot-dip galvanized chain-link fencing.

• 1-7/8-inch outside-diameter line posts are spaced approximately 10 feet apart.

• 1-5/8-inch top rail.

• Three (3) 3-foot-wide walk-in gates.

• Zero (0) drive-through gates.

• All required gate and fence hardware.

The contractor's proposal confirms that the playground fence includes the material, labor, and equipment required to install the 260-foot fence and three 3-foot walk-in gates.

B. Basketball Court Fence

The Contractor shall furnish and install approximately 350 linear feet (LF) of 6-foot-high chain-link fencing around the newly constructed playground.

The existing concrete basketball court measures approximately:

• 101 ft. × 70 ft. × 101 ft. × 70 ft. = 342 LF

The new fence shall be installed approximately 2 feet beyond the existing concrete basketball court on all sides. The approximate fence dimensions will therefore be:

• 103 ft. × 72 ft. × 103 ft. × 72 ft. = 350 LF

The 350 LF quantity represents the estimated total length of fencing required around the basketball court and includes the additional 2-foot offset beyond the existing concrete curb in all directions.

The basketball court fencing shall include:

• Approximately 350 linear feet of chain-link fence.

• 6-foot overall fence height.

• 9-gauge chain-link fabric.

• 2-inch mesh.

• Hot-dip galvanized chain-link fencing.

• 1-7/8-inch outside-diameter line posts spaced approximately 10 feet apart.

• 1-5/8-inch top rail.

• Four (4) 3-foot-wide walk-in gates.

• Zero (0) drive-through gates.

• All required gate and fence hardware.

The contractor's proposal confirms that the basketball court fence includes the material, labor, and equipment required to install the 350-foot fence and four 3-foot walk-in gates.
