STATEMENT OF WORK
HVAC Replacement
1. General: The headquarters facility at the Green River NWR will require replacement of the existing HVAC system that currently heats and cools the upper level (approximately 2,500 sq. ft.)
of the facility. Summer months and winter months will become a safety hazard for employees and volunteers as well as public. The existing unit will need to be removed from the attic and properly disposed of by the contractor. The new unit will be installed outside the facility on an approved platform approximately 4 feet above ground level. The work will also include a thorough inspection of the existing duct work to ensure full heating and cooling efficiencies are achieved. A second HVAC system, including duct work, will be installed to heat and cool the lower level (approximately 2,500 sq. ft.) of the facility. Minimum of 15 SEER units should be installed. 1.2 The structure serves as a quarters for volunteers/staff, etc. The HVAC unit has failed and in critical need of replacement. The existing unit and duct work was insufficient to heat and cool the bottom floor of the structure when operable. The rehabilitation of the system is a critical need for the station.
1.3 Masters HVAC required by KY Law.
1.4 Department of HVAC in Frankfort KY issues permits for HVAC installations.
2. Normal duty hours: Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. In the event of emergencies, Contractor shall provide contact information.
3. Scope: The contractor or their representative shall meet with the site rep upon request while work is ongoing to provide updates and ensure the product and performance are in accordance to expectations of the government. The contractor will provide the CO and the Site Rep. with progress updates weekly at minimum
