About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details vegetation management services for the Department of Energy Southeastern Power Administration's transmission line 3001 in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest. The project involves herbicide application on a 25-26 mile segment between Structures 616 and 431, targeting woody and brushy vegetation that poses potential hazards to transmission lines. The work must be performed using low-volume back-pack style sprayers between May 1st and August 31st, with trucks and all-terrain vehicles restricted to transportation of personnel and supplies only.

Key requirements include using only herbicides from SWPA's approved list or pre-approved by their Environmental Team, providing experienced team leaders to supervise spraying crews, and submitting a detailed operational plan before project commencement. The plan must outline equipment types and projected project timeline. The solicitation (Number 89503625QSW000192) is specifically for herbicide application on SWPA's Line 3001, with the primary goal of maintaining clear transmission line rights-of-way and preventing vegetation-related infrastructure risks.
