There are three (3) categories of vehicles used in determining services. The flat rate is updated annually and is located in Table 1 Vehicle Maintenance Flat Rate by Category.
a) Light Duty - Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight less than 14,000 pounds.
Includes truck classes one through three (Examples: Sedan, Forklift, Scooter, Aircraft Tug, Passenger Van, and Skidsteer).
Electric vehicles or equipment will be assessed a flat annual fee of $350 to cover the electricity cost of charging the vehicle to capacity.
b) Medium Duty - Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight between 14,001 and 26,000 pounds. Includes truck classes four through six (Examples: Bus, Forklift, Manlift, Runway Sweeper, and Step Van).
c) Heavy Duty - Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight greater than 26,000 pounds.
Includes truck classes 7 and 8. (Examples: Crane, Dump Truck, Forklift, Fire Truck, Dozer, and Refueler)
1. Light Duty Vehicles All electric vehicles are included in this category. All automobiles are included in this category.
a) Electric vehicles -Electric vehicles do not require the same services as petroleum fueled vehicles. Routine maintenance consists of performing checks of vehicle components and conducting minor component lubrication or fluid filling. Service is billed at the flat rate for each vehicle.
b) Automobiles - Automobiles require scheduled maintenance to ensure proper functioning. These activities will be billed at flat rate.
c) Other light duty vehicles - Vehicles that are neither electric nor automobiles will have any maintenance activities billed at flat rate.
d) Diagnostics & Repairs - All vehicle diagnostics and repairs will be charged at flat rate. Additionally, based on the quantity of hazardous materials generated by the repairs, there will be a hazardous materials disposal surcharge added to the cost of repairs. Any parts that need to be special ordered will be billed at the material cost plus shipping and procurement.
Any other maintenance repairs that fall outside of normal scheduled/unscheduled diagnostics, repairable fair wear and tear conditions, and periodic preventive maintenance repairs will be reimbursed at the actual cost of repairs, and any other associated cost of restoring the vehicle to it previous condition. For example, a damaged vehicle involved in an accident or vehicle estimated repair costs exceed the Maintenance Expenditure Limit (MEL), but tenant unit requested repairs to be done.
2. Medium Duty Vehicles
a) Maintenance activities will be billed at flat rate.
b) Diagnostics & Repairs - All vehicle diagnostics and repairs will be charged at flat rate. Additionally, based on the quantity of hazardous materials generated by the repairs, there will be a hazardous materials disposal surcharge added to the cost of repairs. Any parts that need to be special ordered will be billed at the material cost plus shipping and procurement.

For example, a damaged vehicle involved in an accident or vehicle estimated repair costs exceed the Maintenance Expenditure Limit (MEL), but tenant unit requested repairs to be done.
3. Heavy Duty Vehicles Vehicles in this category require a minimum of two (2) service personnel to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repair activities because of their size, complexity, and safety requirements. Additionally, specialized equipment is often required increasing the overall cost of maintenance and repairs.
a) Maintenance activities will be billed at flat rate.
