About this file

This document contains a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Life and Disability Insurance for the Public Employees' Benefits Program (PEBP) in the state of Nevada. The RFP is seeking bids for basic life insurance and an optional long-term disability (LTD) insurance program for active employees and retirees. It includes a detailed question-and-answer section that covers census data, claims experience, plan design, administration, and other relevant details. The contract term is through June 30, 2022, with the possibility of renewal.

The RFP specifies that the life insurance plan will be self-administered, with PEBP building the rates into the monthly health insurance premium and remitting payment to the selected vendor. PEBP is currently using Aon as an actuarial consultant and The Standard as the incumbent carrier, though this contract is being competitively bid. Respondents are asked to provide detailed pricing, claims, and census information to support their proposals, with no commissions to be paid. PEBP does not have a voluntary life insurance program, but those benefits are offered through a separate platform.
