About this file

This document is a request for proposal (RFP) from the Nevada Public Employees' Benefits Program (PEBP) for life insurance and long-term disability (LTD) insurance coverage. The RFP is open to all qualified vendors and seeks proposals for plan administration, including customer service, claims processing, and reporting. PEBP requires the ability to administer the current plan provisions, with the option to modify benefit levels. The initial contract term is 4 years, with the option to extend for 2 additional years. Proposals are due by November 1, 2021, with the intent to have the new coverage effective on July 1, 2022.

The RFP outlines mandatory minimum qualifications, including the ability to offer life insurance coverage, experience with large employer groups, and compliance with Nevada licensing requirements. Vendors must also demonstrate technical capabilities, customer service support, and claims administration processes. Pricing is requested for both standalone life insurance and a bundled life and LTD option. PEBP will not accept proposals via brokers and there are no minimum participation or deposit requirements. The selected vendor will be responsible for managing the waiver of premium process and coordinating with PEBP's benefits administration vendor, Benefitfocus.
