*From Anna Walker: I'm a consultant from Learning4Development. We are too small (not a project management firm) to put in a proposal ourselves, but it looks like a fantastic program and we would love to partner with others if you are looking for MERL support and/or leadership. We are headquartered in Australia, with a lot of experience living and working in Sols on relevant programs and a fantastic network of MERL colleagues in Honiara. Please reach out if you would like to connect -- hello@l4d.com.au.
**From The Stevenson Group: TSG is reaching out to possible collaborators that were participants on the recent RFP call. It is likely that MCC would look for contracting/sub-contracting arrangements from the potential bidders on yesterday's RFP call. TSG has a strong the Pacific background while other potential sub-contractors might have complementary experience in technical areas. A successful MCC Solomon Islands project will require a sustainable and climate- smart tourism model that incorporates local micro and small business in the supply chain-and provides significant employment as well as positive spin-off effects for the local economy. There is enormous private sector participation necessary to make this work, particularly the future financial aspects. The TSG proposal connects the dots. In terms of the project focusing on forestry, TSG can look to our aerial survey sub-contractors to address aerial mapping. And other complementary activities. TSG would look to examples in Fiji for legal structures as well as how Suva exports teak. Fiji also could provide land-tenure models for establishing tourism incorporating local villages. We have various partners in Fiji that we can work with the project from Nadi. TSG has the regional knowledge and experience to establish the Coordinating Group and local representatives to interface with government, international organizations and NGO's. Our private sector partners can play a role here in the US while our colleagues in Australia and New Zealand would identify assets in those countries. The project office will have as a key role coordination of the activities of all components. The Chief-of-Party is required to reside in-country. We have three team members that would be instrumental for this phase of the proposal.
