Bid Bond Form Summary
This is a Bid Bond Form for Marion County, Florida, specifically for the 26B-009 NE 58th Ave Resurface Project (TIP080454), which extends from E Highway 326 to NE 90th Street Road. The bond document establishes the contractual relationship between the Principal (bidding contractor), the Surety (bonding company), and the Obligee (Marion County Board of County Commissioners, located at 2631 SE 3rd Street, Ocala, FL 34471). The resurfacing project encompasses 3.09 miles of roadway work including reclaim and widening of existing pavement, resurfacing, shoulder sodding, drain work, driveway and side road apron construction, and pavement marking installation and re-striping.
The bid bond requires contractors to provide either a formal bond or a cashier's check as security for bid compliance. If the County accepts the bid and the contractor fails to execute the contract with appropriate performance and payment bonds as specified in the bidding documents, the contractor must pay the difference between their bid amount and any higher cost incurred by the County to contract alternative work performance, up to the penalty amount stated in the bond. Cashier's checks submitted in lieu of bid bonds are retained by Procurement Services until contract execution and County approval, after which firms must arrange pickup or provide courier tracking numbers for return; firms may request standard USPS mail delivery in writing, with the County relieving itself of liability for lost or misdirected mail.
