About this file
The document is a DC Load Analysis for a new 66 ft Fisheries Research Vessel being procured by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MI DNR). The project includes the build-out of the new vessel, with an addendum being issued that extends the bid due date to February 29, 2024 at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. The addendum also clarifies that while a one-year completion date is requested, bidders may propose an alternate timeline. The contract is for the State of Michigan, with the primary jurisdictions being Ingham County and the City of Lansing.
The DC Load Analysis provides detailed information on the electrical equipment, power requirements, and voltage drop calculations for the vessel. It outlines the various electrical systems, including navigation lights, radars, communications equipment, batteries, and charging systems. The analysis indicates that the vessel will have a house battery bank consisting of two Group 4D AGM batteries and be primarily charged by the main inverter/charger, as well as supplemental charging from the main engine alternators and solar panels.

*Circuit length estimates are the distance from each breaker panel to respective load and back to negative connection. For lines that have multiple items per line (e.g. lights), the distance shown is the longest distance. For circuits that only have one light per wire run, the load for a single light is shown. For circuits with "daisy chained" lights, the sum of all loads are shown.
**The voltage drop shown is a total of the voltage drop for the round trip from power source back to negative, which includes the panel feeder length and the circuit length.
