About this file
This annex provides preliminary requirements for delivery of extravehicular robotic systems to the Gateway logistics module. Key requirements include delivery of 11 units totaling 2,200 kg in mass to the Gateway in one or more launch packages. Thermal control must maintain components from -50 to +80 degrees Celsius during transit. Limited telemetry, health data, and imagery must be transmitted, and commands sent for checkouts and heater control until robotic interfaces are released for integration at the Gateway. Power of 1.8 kW must be provided during transit and 2.2 kW for integration. Horizontal integration of the two largest units is required. Contamination must be limited on sensitive surfaces from all internal and external sources, including thruster plumes, according to specified standards.
The related solicitation is for Gateway Logistics Services to provide logistics resupply capabilities to and from the Gateway module in cislunar orbit. The anticipated RFP release date is August 15, 2019. Proposals are due as specified in the RFP, with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration evaluating all submissions. The work involves delivery of extravehicular systems and other supplies to the Gateway per the requirements outlined in the annex.

ANNEX A RFP 80KSC019R0002
Gateway Extravehicular Robotics (EVR) System Delivery Requirements Gateway Logistics Services
COMMAND, CONTROL AND DATA HANDLING
3.0 The Contractor shall provide the capability to receive, record, and transmit limited telemetry and imagery health and status data from the DSXR during transit to Gateway. The Contractor shall provide cameras for DSXR checkout and public affairs. The arm systems data should be continuously recorded, but may be downlinked periodically or after a communication blackout.
4.0 The Contractor shall provide the capability to command DSXR from the ground while in transit for limited commanding for checkout and heater control. The DSXR will be inhibited from performing any motions during transit until walk off at gateway.
5.0 The Contractor shall provide the capability to command release of Flight Support Equipment
(FSE) hold downs to enable walk off of the arm once arrived at Gateway. Robotic interfaces and hardware release components for the mission will be Government furnished.
POWER
6.0 The Contractor shall provide 1.8kW of power to the DSXR throughout transit.
7.0 The Contractor shall provide 2.2kW of power to the DSXR to enable walk off to Gateway.
INTEGRATION
8.0 The Contractor shall provide for horizontal integration of the two largest units (Units 1 and 3) to the logistics vehicle in order to enable match machining and ground integration of manipulator
FSE to supporting structure.
CONTAMINATION
9.0 The Contractor shall avoid directing thruster plumes near the DSXR to avoid damaging sensitive optical and thermal control surfaces. Plume keep-out zones are TBD.
10.0 The Contractor shall limit contaminant deposition onto cargo sensitive surfaces, induced by all sources of contamination in the unpressurized cargo volume (materials outgassing, venting, leakage, pyrotechnics and thruster plumes) during integrated operations, ascent, transit, and while docked to Gateway, using SSP 50833, International Space Station Program Cargo
Transport Interface Requirements Document, paragraph 3.2.3.8.1.5, as guidance. This limit does not include mission-specific cargo-to-cargo induced contamination when multiple cargo elements are present.
