The UTHSA is seeking qualified vendors to supply high-quality, cost-effective spinal implants, instruments, and associated products for use in the newly opened Multispecialty and Research Hospital. The scope includes a comprehensive range of spinal implant categories spanning cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral/pelvic constructs, as well as associated components such as artificial discs, rods, pedicle screws, cages, and various other surgical instruments. The RFP explicitly excludes Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty Systems. The contract will be multi-awarded to several contractors meeting the stated requirements, with no guarantee of volume, minimum, or maximum compensation. The initial term of the agreement will be for one year, with the University retaining the option to renew for up to four additional one-year terms, subject to the same terms and conditions.
Proposers must submit detailed rate sheets including hourly rates and titles for all team members associated with the account, with hourly rates remaining firm throughout the contract term and all renewal periods. All quoted rates must include labor, equipment, materials, fees, overhead, profit, insurance, licenses, and all other related costs necessary to fulfill the Scope of Work requirements. The University will reimburse reasonable, pre-approved expenses including meals, rental cars, mileage, coach class airfare, and lodging in accordance with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts travel reimbursement rates, subject to a maximum expense cap to be mutually agreed upon. Payment terms are net 30 days as mandated by the Texas Prompt Payment Act, with invoices submitted electronically to AP-einvoice@uthscsa.edu and requiring a valid Purchase Order reference.
