About this file
This is a Minimum Insurance Coverage Requirements document issued by Richardson Independent School District in Texas outlining mandatory insurance policies for vendors engaged in district contracts or projects. The document specifies comprehensive general liability insurance with per-occurrence limits of $1,000,000, medical expense limits of $5,000 per person, and personal and advertising injury limits of $1,000,000, along with automobile liability insurance with combined single limits of $1,000,000 per accident and workers' compensation insurance at statutory limits. All liability insurance must name the school district as an additional insured with thirty days' notice of cancellation or material changes required. Vendors must ensure coverage extends throughout the contract duration and must provide updated certificates of insurance prior to expiration if the coverage period ends during project execution.
Vendors are responsible for ensuring their subcontractors maintain identical insurance coverage or alternatively insure subcontractor activities under their own policies. Vendors must comply with Texas Labor Code Section 401.022(44) by properly reporting classification codes, payroll amounts, and filing appropriate coverage agreements (DWC081, DWC082, DWC083, DWC084, or DWC085) for all employees providing services on the project. Additionally, vendors are required to post notices on each project site in the format prescribed by the Texas Worker's Compensation Commission informing all service providers of coverage requirements and providing instructions for verifying coverage and reporting deficiencies. These requirements remain in effect for the entire duration of the contract or project.
