About this file

This is a Code of Conduct document established by Richardson Independent School District (RISD) for all vendors, contractors, employees, agents, suppliers, and installers working on district school projects and properties. The document outlines mandatory compliance requirements for personnel entering RISD facilities, including check-in procedures with designated district representatives, the wearing of picture identification badges while on school property, and adherence to professional conduct standards. Vendors and their personnel are prohibited from using tobacco products, drugs, and alcoholic beverages anywhere on school property and must maintain professional and courteous behavior at all times, with RISD retaining sole discretion in determining violations. The code explicitly prohibits all contact with students, including arranging meetings, engaging in social conversations, exchanging contact information, and any form of electronic communication. Additional requirements include proper work attire with appropriate footwear and personal protective equipment, prompt departure from campus at shift end, and compliance with weapon-free zone policies.

Background checks and criminal background evaluations are mandatory requirements, and the code specifically prohibits engagement of any person with pending charges or convictions related to offenses against children, sex offenses, crimes involving weapons or violence, felony property offenses, or any other offense that RISD determines may compromise student, staff, or property safety. Vendors must ensure their employees use only designated non-student restrooms and understand that school requirements may necessitate unscheduled termination of daily activities, requiring vendors to coordinate makeup scheduling with RISD. Unacceptable behavior including physical or verbal intimidation, horseplay, or fighting results in immediate removal from the site, with RISD maintaining sole discretion in determining what constitutes unacceptable conduct.
