About this file

This is an electrical floor plan and specifications document for a project involving the State of Illinois, specifically for the installation of new air handling units at the LPU Print Shop in the North End Stratton Building located at 401 S. Spring Street, Springfield, Illinois. The project, designated as 25-049, requires the installation of new air handling equipment including a 50A-208V-1PH heat pump (HP-1) and two 0.68A-208V-1PH air handling units (AHU-1 and AHU-2) in the partial basement electrical area. The work scope includes extending electrical conductors from existing panels, installing new disconnects and control wiring, and making connections to existing federal pacific electrical infrastructure on the first floor. The project was dated August 7, 2025, with an expiration date of November 30, 2026, and utilizes a scale of 18" = 1'-0" for the electrical floor plan layout.

All electrical work must be performed by a certified electrician in strict accordance with the National Electrical Code, International Energy Code, and applicable state and local regulations and ordinances. The electrical subcontractor is responsible for providing all power wiring using copper conductors with THWN, THHW, or THHN insulation, installing EMT conduit for panel feeders, and coordinating with mechanical and architectural drawings to avoid conflicts. Additional requirements include verifying voltage and phase prior to installation, installing safety switches, providing a revised typed panel index for existing panels, sealing all electrical penetrations through exterior walls, and providing a one-year written guarantee covering all labor and materials from the date of substantial completion. The subcontractor is also responsible for all hangers, clips, mounting hardware, cutting, and patching work.
