About this file

This is an HVAC floor plan and layout document prepared by Evan Lloyd Associates, Inc. for the State of Illinois, depicting new air handling units for the LPU Print Shop at the Northend Stratton Building located at 401 S. Spring Street, Springfield, Illinois. The project, numbered 25-049, calls for the installation of two air handling units (AHU-1 and AHU-2, each with 800 CFM cooling capacity) and one heat pump unit (HP-1 with 48,000 BTUH cooling capacity). The plan shows the partial basement HVAC configuration with detailed specifications for refrigerant piping, condensate drain lines, control wiring, and equipment mounting requirements. The document is dated August 7, 2025, with a project expiration date of November 30, 2026.

The specifications require the HVAC contractor to be experienced in the trade and to install all systems in accordance with the 2018 International Mechanical Code and 2021 International Energy Conservation Code. The contractor must obtain manufacturer shop drawings, provide a minimum of three sets to the using agency, architect, and themselves, and deliver an operation and maintenance manual to the owner. Equipment specifications include Trane units (models TPKFYP024KM142B for air handlers and NTXMSM48A182BA for the heat pump) with pre-charged refrigerant line sets featuring 3/4-inch insulation and tamper-resistant caps. All condensate piping must be Schedule 40 PVC with solvent-welded connections. The HVAC subcontractor is required to provide a one-year written guarantee covering all labor and materials from the date of substantial completion, with any field condition changes to be made at no additional cost to the owner.
