Summary

This is Addendum #05 to the door hardware specification section (087100) for the Dunmore Carpet Factory Renovation and Site Work Project, issued by ALLOY5, LLC on behalf of Hoofty Holdings. The addendum extends the bid deadline to Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. prevailing time and provides clarifications on exterior brick repointing, appliance supply responsibility, electrical demolition scope, door hardware scheduling, and mixed air ductwork definitions. The comprehensive specification section 087100 establishes requirements for mechanical and electrified door hardware, electronic access control system components, hinges, continuous hinges, cylindrical locks, exit devices, electronic programmable interconnected locksets, power supplies, door closers, thresholds, and related hardware. The hardware schedule details 16 hardware groups with specific manufacturers and products, including scheduled manufacturers such as Schlage, Falcon, LCN, Von Duprin, and Ives, with acceptable alternate manufacturers specified for most items. The project requires submission of detailed door hardware schedules prepared by a DHI-certified Architectural Hardware Consultant, product data, wiring diagrams, samples, keying schedules, and compliance certifications for fire-rated assemblies.

The specification mandates single-source responsibility for each hardware type to ensure compatibility and continuity of maintenance standards. Quality assurance requirements include a minimum of five years' documented experience for hardware suppliers, qualified installers, and DHI-certified consultants available during the work. Warranty periods vary by manufacturer and product type, ranging from one year for electrical components to 25 years for certain door closers such as the LCN 4050 Series. The project requires a mandatory keying conference and pre-installation conference prior to construction, coordination with electrical and security systems, and post-installation functional testing and inspection in compliance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 101. Approximately 300 access control credentials in black finish are specified as miscellaneous items. Installation must follow DHI guidelines and manufacturer specifications, with hardware mounted at heights complying with ANSI standards and accessibility requirements. A key control system with capacity for 150 percent of project locks and maintenance data including care instructions and replacement parts information must be provided at project closeout.

SPECIFICATIONS

New Specification Sections:

1. 087100 DOOR HARDWARE

Revised Specification Sections:

Questions:

5.1 On the Structural Elevations it is depicted that there are areas of the exterior elevations which are to be repointed. On the Architectural elevations it’s called out to be "Existing Exterior brick to be repointed and repaired. See Structural Drawings for Extents of Brick Repair"

Does this mean that all of the building is being repointed and were referring to the structural drawings for repair? It is conflicting between the Structural and Architectural please advise.

Answer: To clarify, this means that the building is to be repointed in the area outlined on the elevations found in the Structural Elevation Drawings.

5.2 Is the supply of the Appliances the responsibility of the General Contractor.

Answer: Appliances are the responsibility of the GC. Please see drawing A7.40 for

Manufactures and Model Numbers.

5.3 The architectural Demo drawings have notes that say to reference Electrical Demo drawings for more info, but I do not see any electrical demo drawings. Is this just a cut and paste note or am I missing drawings.

Answer: The electrical receptacles, switches, loose wiring, and wire mold track is to be removed as indicated on the Architectural Demolition Drawings from the walls that are scheduled to remain. The statement “Refer to elec. Demo dwg for more info” can be ignored in Key Note 15.

5.4 Will there be a door hardware schedule for this project.

Answer: See attached specification section “087100 Door Hardware”

5.5 Per addendum# 2 what is mixed air ductwork?

Answer: The term "mixed air ductwork" appears in our specifications for Ductwork and

Ductwork Insulation, and is just referring to any sections of duct where outdoor ventilation air mixes with return air, before being supplied through an HVAC system.

Typically, a VTAC would have a mixing box or plenum box on the intake side where the ventilation air from outside mixes with the return air already in the space. That section would be considered the "mixed air" going into the units to be conditioned for the space.
