About this file
This is a request for proposal (RFP) from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to create an innovative chemistry center focused on synthesizing and delivering rationally designed compound libraries to scientific researchers working on antibiotic drug discovery programs targeting Gram-negative bacteria. The center will synthesize new compounds to further the understanding of structure-activity relationships and support the development of new antibacterial treatments, in alignment with the goals of the National Action Plan for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria. The RFP requires chemical library design, compound synthesis capabilities, and compound management functions to solicit proposals, review proposals, synthesize diverse chemotypes, store compounds, and distribute libraries to researchers in a seamless manner. Proposals are due by March 16, 2020 with a period of performance from February 1, 2021 through January 31, 2022 and seven optional one-year extension periods. The RFP includes standard contract clauses on cost reimbursement, key personnel, reporting requirements, and additional terms related to the work scope.
