About this file

This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation 75H71025Q00191, which involves the NNMC Building 3000 Back Deck Replacement project. The Q&A addresses three key inquiries from potential bidders: (1) demolition responsibilities, (2) ADA compliance requirements, and (3) contract status. Specifically, the answers clarify that NNMC will handle deck demolition and material hauling, ADA ramp requirements will be reviewed later with the Service Unit's Safety Department, and this is a new contract with no incumbent provider.

The solicitation is issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service for a deck replacement project at the Northern Navajo Medical Center. While the Q&A does not provide detailed scope or pricing information, it indicates that potential bidders should carefully review the Statement of Work (SOW) and understand that certain assumptions about demolition and accessibility modifications are not part of the current project scope.

Questions & Answers – 75H71025Q00191 NNMC Building 3000 Back Deck Replacement

1. Are we bidding for the demo part of the job, so we can place bid in for demo labor, trash haul fees and fuel costs.

Answer: After reviewing the SOW, there is no mention of the contractor demoing the deck and hauling the material to a certified landfill site. No, there will be no bidding for the demo, labor or hauling. NNMC will do the demoing and haul the materials to a local landfill.

2. Are we adding in for a ADA approved ramp to access the building, if building to ADA requirements we also have to have the entrances build to specs. A requirement of 60" turning radius is also required at entry points.

Answer: After reviewing the SOW, there is no mention of the deck being in compliance with ADA requirements nor a ramp to be installed. No, there will be no adding of an ADA approved ramp at this time just to replace the deck. The ADA requirement for a ramp will be reviewed and addressed at a later time with the Service Unit’s Safety Department and Engineer before the building is reopened for occupancy.

3. We would like to know if this is a brand new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. If not brand new, could you please provide the current/previous contract number?

Answer: This request is a new contract.
