About this file
This document comprises construction specification sections for the Pine Ridge AE Multiplex Design project, detailing materials, products, and execution requirements across multiple building systems.
Section 047200 (Cast Stone Masonry) specifies cast stone sills and wall cap units complying with ASTM C1364, manufactured using moist curing at specified temperatures and humidity levels. Units must feature sharp arris details, sloped horizontal surfaces at 1:12 for drainage, and acid etching after curing. Accessories include Type 304 stainless steel anchors and dowels per ASTM standards. Mortar mixes must comply with ASTM C270 Type N for both setting and pointing applications. Installation requires full bed mortar with full head joints, with joint pointing in layers not exceeding 3/8 inch, tooled to slightly concave finish when thumbprint hard. Section 068316 (Fiberglass Reinforced Paneling) requires FRP wall panels 0.10 inch thick with smooth white surface, installed via adhesive only with sealant joints and no trim, complying with ASTM D5319 and achieving maximum flame spread index of 25 and smoke developed index of 450 per ASTM E84. Panels from manufacturers including Crane Composites, Marlite, Nudo Products, or Panolam must be stored flat indoors and acclimated 48 hours before installation. Section 072119 (Foamed-In-Place Insulation) specifies closed-cell spray polyurethane foam at ASTM C1029 Type II with minimum density of 1.5 lb/cu. ft. and R-value of 6.2 per inch, from manufacturers such as Carlisle, Enverge, Huntsman, or Johns Manville, achieving flame spread index of 25 or less and smoke developed index of 450 or less, and passing NFPA 276 testing as part of approved assemblies. Installation requires multiple passes not exceeding manufacturer-recommended thicknesses without spraying into rising foam.
Section 087100 (Door Hardware) establishes comprehensive requirements for mechanical and electromechanical door hardware for swinging doors, with preinstallation conference mandatory. Hinges must comply with BHMA A156.1, while continuous geared hinges meet ANSI/BHMA A156.26 Grade 1-600 specifications fabricated from 0.120-inch minimum extruded 6063-T6 aluminum. Electrified quick-connect transfer hinges require standardized Molex plug connectors accommodating up to 12 concealed wires. Mechanical locks and latches include BHMA A156.5 Grade 1 cylinders with 7-pin replaceable BEST cores, 2-3/4 inch backset, and manufacturer-standard ADA levers. Lock cylinders require construction cores replaceable by permanent cores, with 5 construction and 10 permanent master keys provided. Keying systems must be factory registered per BHMA A156.28 with master key systems providing change keys and master keys. Surface closers must comply with BHMA A156.4 rack-and-pinion hydraulic specifications, while door gasketing per BHMA A156.22 limits air leakage to 0.3 cfm/sq. ft. for single doors and 0.50 cfm per ft. for double doors when tested to ASTM E283 at 0.3-inch water gauge pressure. Manufacturer warranty covers three years from Substantial Completion, except exit devices (two years) and manual closers (10 years). Section 323119 (Metal Gates) requires aluminum swing gates fabricated from square extruded-aluminum tubes with 3-by-3 inch outer frames (0.188-inch wall) and 2-by-4 inch inner frames (0.188-inch wall), infilled with 1-inch-by-5½-inch engineered wood slats. Hardware includes latches, hinges, keepers, center stops, and cane bolts, all fabricated from hot-dip galvanized corrosion-resistant materials per ASTM A153/A153M. Aluminum must comply with ASTM B221 (extrusions), ASTM B429/B429M (tubing), and ASTM B26/B26M (castings) specifications, finished with baked enamel or powder coating per AAMA 2603 with minimum 2-mil dry film thickness.
