Openings 571 and 572 (Plan Page A402, Keynote 8-01): The keynote states, “This door to have vision panel.” These two openings are for the men’s and women’s restrooms, and vision panels are not recommended for these locations. Please confirm that these are intended to be flush doors.

12/01/2025

See revised drawings. Doors 571 and 572 do not need vision panels and no longer need to be 20min fire rated.

Opening 612: Per our walkthrough on November 12th, this opening is to be removed from the scope of work. Please verify that this is correct.

12/02/2025

Door 612 removed from project.

Opening 606: The keynote indicates “install new door.” Based on our walkthrough on November 12th, this door is to remain in place, with only the hardware being replaced. Please confirm. 12/03/2025

See revised drawings. Door 606 leaf is to be re-used. Replace all hardware on door and install armor plating on existing door.

Openings 138, 148, 631, 632, 633, 640, and 641: These doors are in generally good condition. It was discussed that we may wrap the lower 34 inches with stainless steel rather than replace the openings entirely.

Please confirm whether this approach is acceptable.

12/04/2025

See revised drawings. Doors 138, 148, 631, 632, 633, 640, and 641 can have their leafs re-used but still wrap with armor plate. Yes the approach is acceptable. IHS COR

A0002 5 11/26/2025 Technical

Opening 226 (Keynote 8-16): The keynote states, “Install self-latching hardware that coordinates with power closers.” The opening currently has maglocks on push/pull hardware with an automatic operator and does not latch. The opening is not fire-rated and may not require latching. Please verify the required door function and overall operational intent for this opening.

12/05/2025

This door needs automatic operator and self latching because it is a door in a suite separation. It is not fire-rated but does require self latching. The operators should be tied to a button on the wall.

Opening 240: Per our walkthrough on November 12th, this opening was noted to be removed from the scope of work. Please confirm.

12/06/2025

Door 240 removed from project.

A0002 7 11/26/2025 Technical

Opening 750: The keynote calls for installing an automatic door closer and linking it to a new handicap button, with the button to be installed on the wall near the door. In order for this to function properly, a release mechanism (such as an electric strike or electrified lock) will be required.

The door is typically kept locked. Will card access be added to this opening? Without a release mechanism, the handicap button would allow unrestricted entry. Please advise on how to proceed.

12/07/2025

This door must remain secure from the corridor. Replace the frame and door so the door swings toward the corridor and is an egress door towards the corridor with a panic bar on the inside. The exterior will have a punch pad (Not PIV card access) that will open the door with the operator. An electric strike will be needed. IHS COR

A0002 8 11/26/2025 Technical

Opening 647: The keynote states to provide and install new door leaves, same size as existing, wood core wrapped in stainless steel, using existing hardware. Per our walkthrough on November 12th, it was noted to reuse the existing door and install a new continuous hinge, weatherstrip, threshold, and sweep. The existing lock and closer will be reused. Please confirm that this revision is acceptable.

12/08/2025

This door is to have a new door leaf with armor plating, reuse hardware. No change from original request on this door.

IHS COR

A0002 9 11/26/2025 Technical

Opening 670: The keynote calls for reusing existing hardware with a new door leaf. Per the November 12th walkthrough, the existing door is to remain in place. General maintenance will be performed, including adjusting weatherstripping, threshold, and sweep, to properly weatherize the door. The existing door and frame will remain. Please confirm.

12/09/2025

General Maintenance on this door is acceptable. No new frame or leaf but new weatherstripping, threshold and sweep.

After reviewing this project, I am not seeing a door manufacturer called out or a hardware schedule. Do you have that or will that be coming out soon?

12/10/2025

We did not specify a door manufacturer. The doors just need to be solid wood core doors 1 ¾” thick and match the existing facility veneer color.

We also did not create a hardware schedule as it is in the contractor to verify the hardware needed for each door in the project. We listed out the functionalities of each door assembly and which doors are to have hardware replaced.
