About this file
This is an internal requirements document and clarification note addressing Question #4 regarding a Cisco unified communications solution procurement.
The document specifies the licensing and services requirements for a FLEX subscription-based solution, including 800 FLEX on-premises calling licenses and 140 CUBE Enhanced licenses, with a contract term of 1 year plus 4 option years (5 years total). The scope encompasses deployment and configuration of FLEX licensing for unified communication solutions supporting Webex Calling, Meetings, and Messaging across multiple platforms (Teams, Zoom, and Webex), along with integration into existing infrastructure and validation of license assignments and usage. For Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) Enhanced Services, the document indicates that deployment and configuration of CUBE for secure SIP trunking, call routing policy design and implementation, and security enhancements including TLS/SRTP configuration and DoS protection are required. The document notes clarifications that the customer already has an existing CUBE installation in place, no second CUBE is being added for redundancy, and the security enhancements represent modifications to existing configurations rather than new setup. A critical unresolved question regarding quote structure asks whether pricing should be provided for 1 year only or across the full 5-year period.

Question #4
- Sell the FLEX licenses based on the BOM.
o Qty 800 FLEX on Prem Calling o Qty 140 CUBE Enhanced o They ask for 1 YR + 4 option years. Do you want me to do a 1 YR quote, or a 5 year quote?
- Make sure everything is correctly updated for the new FLEX subscription.
o Deployment and configuration of Flex licensing for unified communication solutions, including Webex Calling, Meetings, and Messaging. (Meetings via Teams, Zoom and Webex) o Integration of Flex licensing into existing infrastructure to ensure seamless operations.
o Validation of license assignments and usage.
- Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) Enhanced Services o Deployment and configuration of CUBE to provide secure, reliable SIP trunking for voice and video communication. They already have a CUBE based on their answers.
o Design and implementation of call routing policies. This should already be in place based on their answers.
o Enabling CUBE redundancy for high availability. Are we adding a second CUBE? Is this going to be in the same data center as the existing CUBE? What model of router will this new CUBE be installed on? No second CUBE.
Security enhancements including TLS/SRTP configuration and DoS protection. If this is in scope, we need to get on a call to talk through their current state and their desired end state, as this can be a pretty big scope, depending. This is not a new set up.
