Amendment 0003
Repair Waterfront, USCG STA New York 08/09/2022
RESPONSES TO RFI/QUESTIONS:
Q1: The descriptions listed for both Item 00002: Optional Bid Item 1 & Item 00003: Optional Bid Item 2 are identical. Please advise.
A1: Section B, page 5 of the Invitation for Bid (IFB) has been updated to reflect the correct descriptions.
Replace page 5 of the IFB with the version attached at the end of this amendment. Please note that the specifications and drawings did not contain this error.
Q2: Can the 16ӯ float guide piles be partially extracted to raise the lower coating limit above MHW?
This methodology would be particularly helpful for Floating Docks A & B since they are not being replaced. The 14ӯ inner piles would not be extracted at all.
A2: Partial extraction of the guide piles will not be permitted. Please note that the 16” diameter float guide piles were grouted after installation over the 14” diameter guide piles.
Q3: Is the manufacturer of the refueling float known? We would like to contact them for the fendering and the pile guide components.
A3: The manufacturer of the refueling float is unknown.
Q4: Reference Addendum #2. The Additional Scope Note 4 details the repair of the listing to Dock E. Is the intent to repair the listing for this float until the new float is in place?
A4: Yes, the intent is to repair the listing for this float until the new float is in place. The Dock E list repair is specified to take place at the beginning of the Contract to allow for its use by STA New York while the replacement Dock E is designed and fabricated.
