About this file

This document is Amendment 001 for a U.S. Coast Guard solicitation (70Z08525RLREP0009) for the Dockside (DS) Repair of the USCGC MIDGETT in Fiscal Year 2026. The amendment addresses five contractor questions regarding technical specifications, parts availability, and repair procedures. Key responses include: an updated specification has been uploaded to SAM.Gov, pier loading limits at Honolulu Base are confirmed as 600 lbs per sq ft, and the Coast Guard will not provide most obsolete replacement parts for air conditioning system components. The contractor will need to source specific valves and thermal expansion parts, though the Coast Guard confirmed they will accept OEM-suggested grooming procedures.

The solicitation is issued by the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center in Alameda, California, with an amendment effective date of 07/23/2025. The repair appears to focus on maintenance and technical upgrades to the USCGC MIDGETT's air conditioning and related systems, with specific attention to parts replacement and system grooming. Contractors are required to acknowledge the amendment and potential changes to their previously submitted offers.
