| USCGC SPAR (WLB-225B) DOCKSIDE AVAILABILITY FY2019 |
| Follow-up Questions & Answers |
question # item # item title question response
| 1 | Work Item 17 | Superstructure Preserve, 100% | Given that specified reduction gear repairs (work item 41) are incompatible with large scale sandblasting, will the USCG consider cancelling work item 17? | Work Item 17 SUPERSTRUCTURE PRESERVE 100% is a optional work item. Contractor shall bid accordingly |
| 2 | Work Item 18 | Superstructure Preserve, Partial | Presuming that the existing superstructure coating is PSX 1001, our experience suggests that partial coating cannot be successfully performed. Will the USCG consider cancelling work item 18? | Work Item 18 SUPERSTRUCTURE PRESERVE, PARTIAL is a optional work item. Contractor shall bid accordingly |
| 3 | Work Item 26 | Fuel transfer Stations Renew | 1.1.1 Table of valves to be renewed does not specify valve #'s. Referenced prints show multiple valves on each applicable station. Will CG provide clarification as to what valves are to be renewed by referencing valve #'s Table one suggests six (6) L/O Fueling Station Valves, two (2) W/O Fueling Station valve, one (1) H/O Fueling Station Valveves, but provides no insight into how many F/O Station Valves are to be replaced. | Amendment #2 response: upon arrival of cutter valves will be identified for KTR. F/O Station valves, 04 to me renewed. |
| 4 | Work Item 26 | Fuel transfer Stations Renew | 1.1.1 Table of valves refers to the H/O transfer station located on the Stbd. side frame 11 (1-11-2). Referenced prints do not show frame 11. Can you provide a print or a reference that would show the 1 valve slated for renewal? | awaiting info back from cutter |
| 5 | Work Item 29 | Auxiliary Sea Water (ASW) Systems Sea Bay Isolation Valve, Renew | LUDC WOULD LIKE TO RESUBMIT THE FOLLOWING QUESTION: In paragraph 1.1, it states to renew the ASW system sea bay isolation valve (6-inch). It refers us to drawing CG DWG 225B-WLB 256-001, valve ASW-V904-1. On the drawing, it shows that the piping to the valve is 14 inch. Is this valve a 14 inch valve and not 6 inch? Is valve V904-1 a 14" butterfly valve between the strainer and the sea bay? | Amendment #2 response : SEA BAY ISOLATION VALVE IS A 14" BUTTERFLY VALVE |
| 6 | work item 36 | Pilot House Windows Framing and Gaskets, Renew | LUDC WOULD LIKE TO RESUBMIT THE FOLLOWING QUESTION: Specification does not specify how much framing, windows, wipers or spray nozzles are to be replaced, please provide quantities. Can government supply new framing, windows, wipers and Spray nozzles to be replaced? Based upon the USCG response in Amendment #2 is the contractor correct interpreting the specification to include removal and reinstallation of the pilot house windows, with replacement of framing, windows, spray nozzles and window wipers (if determined necessary) the subject of a change order. | Amendment #2 response: we will not know extent of framing what and quantity needs to be replaced until inspection in availability complete |
| 7 | Work Item 38 | Oily Water Separator oil Content Detector (OCD) replace | Given that the USCG has expressed their intention to delete this item from the repair package, is an amendment reflecting this forthcoming? | Work Item 38 OILY WATER SEPARATOR OIL CONTENT DETECTOR (OCD), REPLACE is a optional work item. Contractor shall bid accordingly |
| 8 | Performance Peroid | Applying Critical Path Scheduling and intigration of our estimates with those of OEM technical service representatives and other key subcontractors suggests that the Performance Period for the project is approximately 4 weeks too short. Can the USCG externd the performance period for this project by 4 weeks? | cuttently looking at POP will advise |
