About this file

This document consists of an amendment to a solicitation and related questions and answers for drydock repairs to the USCGC John McCormick. The solicitation is for extending existing stainless steel hull inserts at the port and starboard teardrop areas of the vessel by 32" x 56" x 3/16" stainless steel plates. One question asks how far aft to extend the inserts. The response indicates to align and butt the new plates to the aft end of the existing 56" high stainless steel plate depicted on the shell expansion drawing. The solicitation is issued by the US Coast Guard under the Department of Homeland Security for vessel conversion and repair projects in accordance with Section 8220 of the Alaska Shipyard Provision.

USCGC JOHN MCCORMICK (WPC-1121) DRYDOCK REPAIRS FY23

AMENDMENT 0006

Response to Questions/Requests for Clarification:

1.

“The 32” dim is the fore/aft dim, the 56” dim is the height dim. When they open the shell expansion dwg they will see that the existing SS plate installed right now is ~56” high (but its metric), they are to just line up and butt this new plate to the aft end of that existing SS plate.”

Line 3.5.1 ask the following:

TABLE 1A – FREEBOARD TEARDROP MODS CSMP # DESCRIPTION 2021001

At the port and stbd teardrop areas, extend the existing stainless steel hull insert aft using an insert of dimensions 32” x 56” x 3/16” of the in-kind stainless steel material specified on 154 WPC 111-301.

Please direct us how far to extend aft?
