About this file
This document contains an amendment to a solicitation for drydock repairs of the USCGC John McCormick (WPC-1121). The amendment relaxes tolerances for a 3D scanner used during the repairs from 0.001 inches to approximately 0.004 inches, as long as the contractor can still obtain data to support ISO and reporting requirements. The original solicitation seeks quotations from Alaskan businesses for drydock repairs of the John McCormick in accordance with Section 8220 provisions. The Department of Homeland Security Coast Guard is the issuing agency. Repairs must meet requirements for vessel conversion, alteration and repair projects. The solicitation number is 70Z08023QPBPL0011 and is a Request for Quotations issued under current FAR, HSAR, HSAM and CGAP regulations.

USCGC JOHN MCCORMICK (WPC-1121) DRYDOCK REPAIRS FY23
AMENDMENT 0005
Response to Questions/Requests for Clarification:
1. Para 3.2.2 specifies use of a “3-dimensional coordinate measuring machine (CMM), accurate to within 0.001”” Contractor has had difficulty finding Vendors able to meet this specification.
Contractor recommends Government consider substitution of a 3D Scanner (3D point accuracy of approximately 0.004”) such as the “Artec Leo” or similar for use in this application.
PBPL has no objection relaxing the tolerances to the meet the below recommendation as long as the contractor can still decipher the data. The contractor still needs to be able to satisfactorily obtain the data required to support the ISO 484/2 Class I reqt / report analysis.
