About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for USCG Station Brunswick Flooring Replacement Solicitation #70Z03626Q0014, published March 27, 2026. The document addresses procedural and submittal requirements for potential bidders responding to this flooring replacement project at an operational 24/7 Coast Guard installation.

The Q&A clarifies two key areas: First, furniture removal and coordination requirements—contractors must work closely with unit personnel to move and temporarily store furniture on-site, and must coordinate scheduling since the entire building will not be turned over to contractors. Space availability will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Coast Guard's onsite representative to minimize disruption to ongoing military operations. Second, regarding flooring sample submissions—bidders are not required to submit physical samples with their quotes but must include detailed descriptions of proposed flooring materials' salient characteristics and available color options. Color options may be presented digitally (PDF, manufacturer's catalog, etc.), with physical samples to be requested from the selected contractor post-award for final approval. This Q&A document does not address pricing terms, set-asides, or award dates, which are covered in the associated solicitation.

USCG Station Brunswick Flooring Replacement Solicitation #70Z03626Q0014

Questions and Answers Published: March 27, 2026

Question 1: Is there furniture that will need to be removed from the various rooms?

Answer: Yes, there is furniture in many spaces that will need to be carefully moved and temporarily stored on-site during this project. Close coordination with unit personnel will be required to identify spaces where the furniture can be temporarily stored.

Also, please note that Station Brunswick is a working military installation that is operational 24/7, and close coordination with the onsite representative and unit personnel will be required throughout this project to minimize disruption to unit operations. The entire building will not be turned over to contractors, and contractors will need to coordinate with unit personnel well in advance to determine which spaces will be available for work at any given time. E.g., the contractors may need to keep one or more third floor barracks room available for Coast Guard use while work is completed on the other third floor barracks rooms, etc. Which spaces will be available at any given time will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Coast Guard’s onsite representative or unit personnel.

Question 2: Do you need flooring samples attached to the bid?

Answer: See paragraph three in section 5.0 of the statement or work as well as the submittals in section 10. Offerors are not required to submit physical flooring samples with their quotes. However, quotes must include a description of the salient characteristics of the proposed flooring materials, as well as available color options. Color options may be presented in a digital format (e.g., PDF file, manufacturer’s catalog, or similar). Physical samples will be requested from the selected contractor after contract award for final approval.
