About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for U.S. Coast Guard Solicitation 70Z03326QSEAT0004, ANT Coos Bay Front Gate Replacement project. The Q&A addresses technical specifications and implementation details for the gate and fencing replacement project at the U.S. Coast Guard Aids to Navigations Team facility in Charleston, Oregon. Key responses clarify that the project will use a single motorized sliding gate (not two-part), require replacement of wooden fencing with matching chain-link fence following the existing fence path, and incorporate a 36-inch man door. The gate system must include fail-close power loss requirements with manual override and lock-open features, along with 20 programmable keypad and magnetic/proximity entrance cards for access control.
Additional clarifications address infrastructure coordination requirements, including confirmation that the power circuit will be moved inside facility grounds and that the Public Utility District will relocate power pole support wire prior to work. The government is coordinating with base security for temporary barrier requirements during construction and with the housing officer regarding a water spicket attached to garages on the north side. The barbed wire versus razor wire specification for fencing remains under government review. This Q&A supports the firm-fixed-price, small-business set-aside solicitation with a mandatory site visit on May 11, 2026, a quote submission deadline of May 28, 2026, and a completion deadline of September 9, 2026.
