About this file
The file is a Questions and Responses document for Solicitation 70FB8025Q00000014, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency Community Survivor Assistance Section, seeking generators for immediate disaster response operations. The solicitation requires diesel generators with a minimum capacity of 7500W continuous and 11000W continuous, preferring a specific brand but open to equivalent products that meet or exceed the specified technical requirements.
Key details include the government's emphasis on diesel fuel due to community response protocols, strict specifications on generator size and performance, and willingness to consider alternative brands that match the original product's quality, performance, and physical dimensions. Vendors must demonstrate their proposed generators are functionally equivalent to the specified brand name, with particular attention to the height, length, and width of the equipment. The solicitation appears focused on emergency preparedness and equipment standardization for disaster response scenarios.

| Can you explain if we will be tax exempt in each of these 3 locations for these generators | ||
| on your solicitation 70FB8025Q00000014 | Yes | |
| Could you please check if the following will work? My main concern is the size, as these options are a few hundred watts smaller than the existing unit. |
Additionally, please confirm if diesel is a must-have, or if they are open to gasoline.
Proposed Units:
8 kW – 7,000 W intermittent / 6,500 W continuous 12 kW – 11,000 W intermittent / 10,000 W continuous If these do not meet the required capacity, please advise the exact minimum size Diesel is a must have due to the nature of when these generators will be used. Immediate disaster response operations don’t allow the use of gasoline in any piece of equipment because gasoline is reserved for the impacted community.
No, those units are too small. Minimum size is 7500W continuous and 11000 continuous.
Is this opportunity strictly a brand name or generators equivalent in specs to these are acceptable ?
Would the government differentiate on the basis of brand even if the specs are met and prices are better, in short fulfilling all other requirements ? Brand is preferred but also equivalent products that meet the required specifications.
The Goverment is open to considering other products that are functionally equivalent in terms of quality, performance, and features, but most importantly size. Government is replacing generators and brand name was chosen to due the H/L/W of the generators. Vendors offering an equivalent product must demonstrate that their offering meets or exceeds the specifications of the brand name product listed in the solicitation.
