DAA Opening Comments (Carrier Day) Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I would like to extend a sincere welcome to all of you joining us today for our 2019 Annual Transportation Carrier Day.
This our 6th year hosting these conferences. Our intent of this conference is to bring critical transportation providers together that have a strong will to support FEMA’s mission of delivering essential resources to survivors that were in some way impacted as a result of an incident These type face to face conferences are an excellent way to network for a common goal of delivering resources at the right time and to the right place, discuss observations from previous events with potential solutions that will minimize the same from occurring again, and inform transportation providers of any updates or changes to the FEMA business model FY 2019 Highlights Implementation of the new FEMA Standard Tender of Service on 1 May 2019 $117M in transportation business involving over 5500 moves (Hurricane Florence/Michael and Typhoon YuTu 179 flights and 67 vessel voyages in support of Typhoon YuTu (commodities/power equip/construction material/tents) Retrograde 220 containers of meals and water from Alabama to Tracy, California As I close, I want to encourage all of you to ask questions during the conference. We’re all in this together, one way to improve in areas where we see gaps is getting ideas from participates at conferences like this one today Thank you for all you do, without your support we could not provide the support necessary for meeting survivor needs!
Ransom, Darrell (RD) - Big MHU year!
