Re: Kearns High School – Sports Field Irrigation
Date: August 27, 2025
A Pre-Bid meeting was held at Granite School District on August 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM. As a prerequisite for the Contractor’s bid submission, attendance was required.
Please see the UPPP / Bonfire website for the posted copy of the Pre-Bid Meeting Attendance.
The following is a list of items discussed and covered at the meeting:
• The Contractors met at the Granite School District central office and were provided the following information:
o The attendees were instructed to submit questions to the UPPP website, and it was proposed that we move the bid questions and submission date up so work could start earlier. The new date for questions is September 03, 2025, by 2:00 PM, and answers will be posted for all prospective bidders. Bids are due Friday, September 05, 2025, by 2:00 PM. Please make sure you start your upload well before the cutoff time as UPPP will cut off at 2:00 PM whether or not your upload is complete. If your upload is not complete, the bid will not be accepted.
o Project start date has been moved to Monday, September 22, 2025, and completion date is Friday, November 21, 2025.
Please submit questions if this timeline is not sufficient for the project, and we will address them as an addendum for all bidders.
o Work Hours & Building Access –
Project Superintendent – The general contractor’s assigned Superintendent will be required to submit and pass a background check by GSD Human Resources Department. Cost is $40.00 to be completed after award of project. Upon approval, the Project Superintendent will be issued a Security Card. It will be the Project Superintendent’s responsibility to follow GSD’s security procedures and provide access for its employees and subcontractors to complete the project.
Keys should not be needed but can be obtained if necessary.
o Project Specifications –
This project is separated into two parts. The primary project consists of the west field and the controller. The alternate project will be the east field.

• The 100 quick couplers noted on the plans will be clarified for a breakdown for each field.
The staging area will be confirmed during the pre-construction meeting with the awarded vendor.
A standard 4’ construction fence will be required if the work area is not behind a locked fenced-in area.
4“ Main line will need to be trenched. The laterals may need to be trenched if perimeter tree roots get in the way.
Cal Sense controller two-wire.
• Decoders will need to be replaced.
Work with GSD to confirm the quick connects are as in the plans, so the water supply isn’t accidentally cut off somewhere unexpected.
• Bidders were informed that if they want to tour the facility, they can access the fields near the tennis courts after hours or on weekends. If they wish to observe the fields during the school day, please check in with the front office and let them know who they are and what they’re doing.:
The meeting was concluded.
