About this file
The document is an Affidavit Regarding the Use of Coercion for Labor and Services issued by Santa Rosa County District Schools, specifically addressing human trafficking prevention requirements for nongovernmental entities seeking to contract with the school district. The affidavit, mandated under Section 787.06(13) of Florida Statutes, requires vendors to certify that they do not engage in any coercive labor practices, including threats of physical force, unlawful confinement, exploitative debt practices, document withholding, financial intimidation, fraudulent enticement, or providing controlled substances for exploitation.
The affidavit serves as a legal declaration where the vendor explicitly commits to avoiding specific prohibited actions related to labor and services, with the understanding that any future use of coercion would immediately void the contract and require notification to the governmental entity. By signing the document under penalty of perjury, the vendor's authorized representative affirms compliance with state statutes designed to prevent human trafficking and protect individual rights in contractual relationships with governmental entities like the Santa Rosa County School Board.
