About this file
This is an award memo from the State of Utah Division of Purchasing and General Services regarding a contract opportunity for fuel break mowing services on the Sawtooth National Forest in Box Elder County. The project involves mechanical mowing of specified brushes and grasses within a 275-foot fuel break on both sides of designated roads across 337 acres northwest of Park Valley, Utah. The work must be completed by November 15th, 2026, with a project performance period of 60 days from the official Notice to Proceed. No mandatory site visit was held prior to bidding; however, potential bidders were strongly encouraged to inspect the site to assess general and local conditions affecting contract performance costs. The IFB was anticipated to result in a single contract award to the lowest cost responsive and responsible vendor.
The award memo indicates that vendor responses were evaluated according to criteria stated in the original solicitation, and the intended awardee information can be found in accompanying award documentation on the public supporting documentation site. The awarded vendor must not begin work, purchase materials, or enter into subcontracts until both the recipient and the Division of Purchasing and General Services sign the contract or issue an executed purchase order. The vendor must guarantee its pricing through project completion. Award notification does not constitute a contract; only an executed purchase order or signed contract establishes contractual obligation. Vendors have seven days from the notice issuance to submit any written protests detailing the nature of their objection to the procurement decision.
