About this file

This is an Anticipated Services attachment to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) in Michigan for roof consulting services related to the 2023 Bond Program at the GRPS Nutrition Services facility. The selected roof consultant will provide comprehensive professional services including existing conditions assessment, design and specification development, cost estimating, bidding and procurement assistance, construction administration, quality assurance and testing, and project closeout. The scope requires the consultant to perform a thorough field investigation of all roof areas and components, develop base roof plans and measured drawings due to the absence of existing documentation, prepare complete construction documents suitable for competitive public bidding, provide construction cost opinions at key project milestones, assist with the public bidding process including pre-bid meetings and site walks, conduct periodic site visits during construction with written field reports, perform quality assurance inspections and testing, and coordinate with the GRPS Facilities Team and Construction Manager. The consultant is also expected to attend owner coordination meetings, design review meetings, and construction progress meetings while aligning project activities with GRPS operational needs to minimize disruption to facility operations.

The document does not specify pricing terms, contract duration, or renewal options within the Anticipated Services attachment. No incumbent consultant is identified, and no specific response dates, due dates, or award dates are provided in this attachment. The consultant's services are intended to support the district's goals of obtaining the highest quality project within time and budget allocations through a Qualifications-Based Selection (QBS) process. Optional post-construction services include warranty review and advisory services with follow-up inspections approximately 10-12 months after substantial completion, though these services are contingent upon GRPS request.
