About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a federal drilling contract opportunity at Yosemite National Park related to disaster supplemental work. The solicitation concerns drilling services for multiple boreholes within Yosemite National Park, with access points similar to state highway access.
The document addresses three key clarifications made during the advertisement period. Regarding site logistics, .kmz coordinate files for borehole locations will be posted to SAM.gov to assist contractors in planning efficient drill rig routes through the park. Traffic control does not require California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) approval, allowing contractors to utilize their own technicians for this function as a cost-reduction measure. Regarding project scope, bidders are instructed to base their proposals on the number of boreholes listed in the statement of work. The government acknowledges that marked borehole locations exceed the number planned for drilling, as utility conflicts and park compliance concerns are expected to eliminate numerous proposed locations. This clarification addresses a contractor's concern that the increased borehole count could not be completed within the original three-day timeframe.

2 Does the traffic control have to be Caltrans approved?
We are planning to propose to use our technicians for the traffic control; less cost and the area is not difficult (traffic speed is not high).
